FROM THE KITCHEN: BAKED CROUTONS - LESS FAT!

Croutons are cubes of bread fried in oil, most commonly topped over tomato soup. They are tasty but full of fat.

I jumped with delight when I realized how this baked version tasted even better!

The best part is..unlike the fried version..THESE STAY CRISP TILL THE VERY LAST SPOONFUL OF SOUP!

BAKED CROUTONS

1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
2. Cut slices of bread into cubes.
3. Line baking tray with silver foil. Put a little olive oil, salt and pepper on tray. Toss bread cubes in this.

4. Bake for 10 minutes or till completely crisp, turning them in between to cook evenly. Voilà!

Because of salt and pepper these are tastier than the fried version and I love to munch them as is! :)
